Can two people restart humanity?
Not on their own. Every child of the first two is a brother or sister of every other, so by the second generation every couple is related. Geneticists use a rule of thumb: about 50 people to avoid inbreeding in the short run, about 500 to keep a population healthy for good.
- Seeds
- The Svalbard Global Seed Vault holds about 1.3 million seed samples, frozen inside an Arctic mountain.
- Frozen samples
- Sperm banks and fertility clinics store samples in liquid nitrogen at -196 °C. The tanks need refilling, and refilling needs people and power.
- Power
- Power stations need staff every day. Without them the grid fails within days, and every freezer fails with it.

Play the man or the woman, for the whole game. The other one has a mind of their own.

Empty the shops before the food spoils. Whatever you take is gone for good.

The grid dies on day four. Fuel the generator, or the dark and the dogs come in.
